Reduced Sugar Snickerdoodles

Yield: 5 dozen

Ingredients:

Crisco® Butter No-Stick Cooking Spray
1 (18.25 oz.) Pillsbury® Reduced Sugar Yellow Cake
1/3 cup Crisco® Butter Shortening Sticks
1/4 cup water
1 large egg
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons sugar

Preparation Directions:

1. HEAT oven to 375° F. Spray cookie sheets lightly with no-stick spray.

2. COMBINE cake mix and shortening in a medium bowl with an electric mixer at medium speed until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add water, egg, cream of tartar and baking soda, mixing until a smooth dough forms. Shape dough into sixty 3/4-inch balls.

3. COMBINE cinnamon and sugar on a small plate. Roll dough balls in spice mixture. Place 2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheets.

4. BAKE 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Cool 1 minute. Remove to cooling rack.
