Ingredients
  • Crisco® Original No-Stick Cooking Spray
  • 1/2 cup Crisco® Butter Flavor All-Vegetable Shortening
  • OR 1/2 stick Crisco® Baking Sticks Butter Flavor All-Vegetable Shortening
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup Pillsbury BEST™ All Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preparation Directions
  • Step 1Heat oven to 350°F. Spray an 8x8-inch pan with no-stick cooking spray.
  • Step 2Combine shortening and milk in large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on MEDIUM for 1 minute. Stir. Repeat until melted, stirring after each minute. Stir in sugar, then egg.
  • Step 3Combine flour, baking powder and salt in medium bowl. Stir into sugar mixture until blended. Stir in butterscotch chips, nuts and vanilla. Spread into prepared pan.
  • Step 4Bake 27 to 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on cooling rack. Cut into 2x2-inch squares.
