Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup cinnamon-sugar
  • Crisco® Original No-Stick Cooking Spray
  • 1 package Pillsbury™ Moist Supreme® Yellow Premium Cake Mix
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup apple sauce
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup Crisco® Pure Vegetable Oil
Preparation Directions
  • Step 1Heat oven to 425°F. Place cinnamon-sugar in small bowl; set aside. Coat 6-cavity donut pan with no-stick cooking spray.
  • Step 2Place cake mix and cinnamon in large bowl. Add apple sauce, eggs and oil. Beat with mixer on medium speed until blended. Fill cavities 2/3 full.
  • Step 3Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 2 minutes in pan. Remove from pan. Immediately dip warm donuts in cinnamon-sugar, turning to coat both sides. Repeat to bake remaining donut batter.
Glazed Apple Spice Donuts
  • Step 1Prepare donuts as directed above, but omit cinnamon-sugar. Place 1/2 cup Pillsbury­­™ Creamy Supreme® Caramel Flavored Frosting or Vanilla Flavored Frosting in small heavy-duty resealable plastic bag. Microwave on HIGH 10 seconds. Knead bag. Press frosting toward bottom corner of bag. Cut a very small corner off bag. Drizzle frosting lightly over darker side of cooled donuts.
Powdered Apple Spice Donuts
  • Step 1Prepare recipe as directed above, but add 1/2 cup powdered sugar to cinnamon-sugar in step 1. Stir until combined.
